On Thursday, over two hundred people suspected to be undocumented immigrants were detained following an altercation at Glass House marijuana farm in Camarillo, California. Authorities have stated that several of the detainees were minors. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the agency suspects “exploitation, forced child labor, and potentially human trafficking or smuggling” to be involved.
Customs and Border Protection boss Rodney Scott said on X: “Here’s some breaking news: 10 juveniles were found at this marijuana facility – all illegal aliens, 8 of them unaccompanied. It’s now under investigation for child labor violations.”
Protesters were there. They livestreamed the altercation.
One person fired a gun at federal officers. They are trying to locate him now.
One person died during the incident. Their age was not revealed.
