Madhav Sheth launches new Indian smartphone brand Ai+ with sovereign OS

On July 6, 2025, former Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth announced the launch of a new smartphone brand, Ai+, under his startup, NxtQuantum Shift Technologies. The company unveiled two smartphones, Ai+ Pulse and Ai+ Nova 5G, aimed at budget-conscious Indian consumers and marketed as being developed with a focus on user data privacy and digital sovereignty.

The devices run on NxtQuantum OS, a custom operating system based on Android 15. It includes privacy features such as a real-time app permission dashboard, local AI processing, and data storage on Indian servers certified by MeitY. The initiative aligns with India’s push for data localization and digital self-reliance.

Ai+ smartphones are assembled in India, with production facilities located in Noida and Bangalore. The company states that the devices support the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ initiatives. Both smartphones feature dual rear cameras, expandable storage, and 5000 mAh batteries. The Nova 5G additionally supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and faster charging.

Ai+ aims to attract users transitioning from feature phones by offering affordable smartphones with privacy-focused features, competing with major brands such as Xiaomi, Samsung, and Realme.
