On Thursday, a spokesperson for the Australian rock music act AC/DC said that guitarist Stevie Young had been admitted to a hospital, and was “undergoing a full battery of tests” in Buenos Aires as a precaution.
According to Loudwire, the hospitalization occurred after the band’s performance in Santiago, Chile. Reuters reported that Young is expected to make a recovery. The band’s spokesperson said he was expected to return to live performances as early as next Monday. The reason for his hospitalization was not stated.
Young is the nephew of founding members Angus and late Malcolm Young. He joined the band in 2014 when Malcolm Young ran into complications with his health. Malcom died three years later in 2017 from dementia.
