In and around the Payette National Forest in Idaho fire crews are trying to put out forest fires. As of July 28–29, 2025, major fires in the region include the Big Bear Fire, which has burned around 11,241 acres and is 75% contained, and the Rush Fire is also active in Payette National Forest. Lightning strikes in late July caused the wildfires.
