Officers attempted a PIT maneuver to stop the suspect’s vehicle on the US 60 freeway, but it was unsuccessful. The suspect then jumped out of the vehicle Police tried to tase him, but that also failed. The suspect continued running across the travel lanes, jumped over the median, and reached for his waistband. This prompted an officer-involved shooting. The suspect was shot and transported to a
US 60 freeway was shut down and Alma School Road during the incident, causing traffic delays and diversions. The situation attracted significant police presence with officers drawing their weapons when the suspect ran onto the freeway.
