Shooting at Old Dominion University leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

On Thursday morning, March 12, a gunman opened fire at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, leaving one person dead and two injured.

The gunman was identified as Mohamed Bailor Jalloh (36), who was killed in the shooting. The injured victims were initially reported to be in critical condition.

Jalloh previously pled guilty in 2016 for attempting to provide material support to ISIS, which at the time was referred to ISIL. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison, but was released in early December 2024.
