It’s a love story, and baby, she said yes.
After over two years of dating, American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and football tight end Travis Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, 2025 in a joint Instagram post, with the pop star, 35, writing “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The post also featured several photos of the couple in a garden, with one showing the Kansas City Chiefs player, also 35, on bended knee with Swift cradling his face.
Kelce proposed to Swift with a diamond ring designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, which she described as an “Old Mine brilliant cut”.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner and the football star first revealed their relationship in fall of 2023 when Swift attended one of Kelce’s games. They’ve since been seen together on multiple occasions, including at Swift’s groundbreaking Eras Tour in July 2024, where Kelce made an appearance onstage.
It’s unknown when and where the couple are getting married, as the two only recently announced the news. Wikinews will be updated when they announce more details.
